Congratulations Mitchell FLL Robotics Teams

Congratulations to all of our Mitchell teams on a great qualifying tournament and season. Fifteen teams competed against a field of 32 teams in the district for just 7 spots to advance. Most of our teams were rookie teams and this was their first year competing. Teams had to research a problem with the supply chain, come up with an innovative solution, design, build and program either an EV3 or Spike Prime Robot to complete missions on the FLL Cargo Connect Game Board. Students under the guidance of their coaches and high school mentors spent many hours dedicated to preparing for competition. Teams presented their work via zoom virtual judging sessions and had to submit robot run videos for judging. We are proud of all our teams.

We are happy to announce that Mitchell teams won 6 of 9 awards in several areas and were able advance 4 of the 15 teams. In order to advance teams had to score high in all 4 judging areas. Teams advancing can do so without winning an award, but must have scored high in all areas. Awards were only given to the top two teams in Core Values, Robot Design, and Innovation Project. Three awards were given in Robot Performance. Way to go, team #1367 Aid Bot Builders who won the Champions Award! We are proud of all the teams and their hard work.

We also want to thank all of our parent volunteers for holding weekly meetings, staying late to help kids accomplish programming and dedicating their time to our program. Without them we could not have a robotics program at Mitchell. We appreciate all your hard work.
